People often narrate their difficulty in finding a career path that best suits them. For me, that was never a question. I knew from my early teenage years that I wanted to be in a helping profession. I was immediately drawn to the psychology elements behind individuals and relationships and chose counseling as a career without a moment of hesitation.

I started working with families at the age of 18 and took any opportunity to learn more about process and family dynamics. I worked and went to school to receive my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Mercyhurst University. During that time I was also a research assistant to a professor that specialized in social psychology and worked for a counseling center each summer.

After completing undergraduate school, I then went into my master's program in social work at Youngstown State University. I chose social work with the goal of understanding both therapeutic techniques and the social world around us. I worked in a domestic violence shelter and at a hospital in the neonatal unit to learn more about counseling individuals and couples in life changing situations.

Upon completion of my master's degree, I worked in Family Based Mental Health Services where I received 3 additional years of training in family therapy.

In 2014 I transitioned to a larger group practice and focused more on my skills regarding couples as well as adult individuals. Throughout the last several years I have continued to educate myself in different individual treatment modalities as well as methods that are most effective in couples therapy. During my time there I had 3 beautiful children and added the knowledge of hands on motherhood to my understanding of families.

Now in a solo practice, my goal will be to always grow and continue to learn in order to give my clients the most effective treatment options available.
